September 12 - 17, 2023 in Ann Arbor

We will share, enrich, and expand our community mindset regarding the state of housing.

Party Plans

September 12-17 2023

Change needs to happen now.

We are facing a global housing crisis, with 1.6 billion people expected to be affected by 2025.

House Party is a week-long festival raising awareness on the state of housing in the contexts of the Ann Arbor-Ypsilanti area, the state of Michigan, and the nation at large.

Major Topic Areas

  • Building Development

The A2 Comprehensive Planning engagement process is underway. We can help engage and develop a future vision for our city that improves our housing needs.

  • Transportation

Affordable and reliable access between where we live, work, and gather improves quality of life. Further, our A2Zero Climate Action Plan sets a goal of reducing vehicle miles traveled by 50% by 2030.

  • Policy

Layers of policy regulated at state and municipal levels all impact the ways we fund, design, implement, approve, and operate housing projects. Aligning goals with policy updates is critical.

  • Community

Access and affordability are critical aspects of measuring the success of our current housing conditions. In 2020, there were 2,800 unhoused people in Washtenaw County. We have work to do.
